Trails of Hope,
a website sponsored by the Brigham Young University library, featuring historical
photographs of sites on the trail as well as a collection of journal
writings of travelers on the Oregon, California, and Mormon trails.
An excellent and extensive website on
the Oregon, California, Mormon, Pioneer, and Pony Express trails in
Wyoming. This site gives a location-by-location tour of the trail and
interesting sites along it, complete with good historical
notes, many photos, and even sound clips.
A great Oregon Trail
Page by the creators of a PBS documentary on the trail. Contains full text of
period books describing the trek west as well as descriptions and photos of places
along the trail (including some nice panorama photos).
