Primitive camping is always available on BLM land (though contact the
BLM office for any
current restrictions).
There are designated areas for RV parking near Sweetwater Station and Jeffrey
City.
Additionally, there is a privately-run camp south of Sweetwater Station.
But the best camping in the area is a short drive off highway 287 in
the Jeffrey city area: the Cottonwood Campground administered by the BLM.
Directions:
Turn south on BLM road 2411 near milepost 17 on highway 287 (about 5 miles east
of Jeffrey City). Follow this road just over six miles to the base of Green Mountain.
Fork left and drive three more miles to Cottonwood Campground.

$6 per night per campsite.
Tent or RV (no hookups or dumping).
Table and firepit in each site.
Pit toilets (well maintained and clean) but no water.
