The three Lewiston Lakes are alkaline ponds sitting at an elevation of 7250 feet, near the
top of the climb up Rocky Ridge and immediately to the south of the trail.
This area can be reached by a two-mile hike (or high-clearance vehicle drive) off the
Hudson-Atlantic City Road from the point where the road passes through a notch in the
hills and turns to the right (west) at Diamond Springs.
Follow the track to the left instead (there is a BLM sign),
which follows Silver Creek a short distance before climbing over a small divide to the
Lewiston Lakes area.
